Inspired by Nature-Lost Diamond

I did this card based on Saturday Sketch Challenge 192- if you turn the card on the side.  I tried to make several other designs but this is the stamp set that was calling my name.  I just got it with my order in January but have wanted it for some time.

I had a very long weekend.  I was on-call this weekend which only happens 4 or 5 times a year.  Normally I work all day even if I just need to go in for an hour.  When I was leaving work yesterday after working 9 hours, I noticed the diamond to my engagement ring was missing.  I was bushed and not up to crawling around my office.  I did search for the diamond for about a half hour and then resigned went home to see the family after being gone all day.  I did however go back to my office last night at 9:30pm, and after crawling round the office, going through the trash cans, and emptying the filing cabinet.  I found the diamond in one of the filing cabinet drawers.  The good news is I did work all day and really did not leave my office even for lunch.  If I had been at home there is no telling where the diamond would have gone.

The diamond originally belonged to my husband’s great grandmother, and 4 generations of women have worn the diamond, so I am glad I was not the one to lose it.

So after a very stressful Saturday I did not leave the house today.  I made two Thank you cards for a secretary that was in the office last night and helped me empty my file cabinet, and a paralegal that was in the office when I learned I lost my diamond.  I used Rich Razzleberry and So Saffron for the card stock.  I am going to do another set of this in Melon Mambo and Soft Suede.

Thanks for letting me share.

Saturday Sketch Challenge 191

I finally got a chance to play again in the Stamping 411 Challenge.  I just got the Build a Blossom and Blossom Petals Punch after a party I hosted in January.  Of course I really love them since I love flowers.  I used some retired designer paper from SU probably from 2006/2007, but I love the colors.

I live in sunny Florida and it was beautiful here this past weekend, and today.  I think today it might have hit 80 degrees.  I know the country has been pounded this winter and North Florida has been no exception without snow.  Actually my husband and I loved to ski in our former life before children, so I would not mind some snow for a few days.

I made this card for my daughter’s friend that turned 16 years old, initially I was going to do a Sweet Sixteen card but after Valentine’s  Day, I had moved on.

I now have to go and fix bunny pillow which is a casuality in the dryer.  My daughter has had her for 14 years, and she is having an emotional day, so maybe if her old friend is fixed she will go to bed with a smile on her face.  SSC 191

Valentine’s Day

Below are the cards I made for my girls, my husband and the grandparents.  Valentine’s Day is such a great holiday, although we do not have much time to celebrate it this year.   My favorite card was made for my 15 year old daughter, it is encrusted with pearls and so feminine.  This year has started off rough, and I hope to find more balance between work and family soon.
