Cherry on Top Award

I received this award late last night and flabbergasted was my initial impression.  I am a hobby stamper and a recent blogger, so this was such a nice and unexpected surprise.  I have been stamping for many years, I started after the birth of my first daughter who turns 15 on December 7.  Initially I did it with my mom as a chance to spend time with her doing grown up things.  My mom still occasionally stamps, but since she has retired she is too busy.  I have recently found a renewed passion in the hobby now that I actually have some free time, not much but a little.  I am trying to create and stamp at least once a week.

I must say the award is the Cherry on Top of my day, week, and month.  I received this award from June Switzer, California.  I was the winner of her blog candy on the Royal Blog Tour.  I just received the blog candy today and the designs from ” Lovely as a Tree” are exquisite, and beautiful in person.  I am such a lucky person.  Now I will follow the directions given to me with the award and pass it on to some I think are deserving of it.

The rules are very simple:

1.  Thank the person who sent it to you.  Thank you June from the bottom of my heart-http://stampinwithjune.blogspot.com/

2. Copy and paste the award to your blog.  Very simple for most people.

3.  Share 3 things about yourself that you enjoy!  Obviously I love to stamp, I love and enjoy my family-  husband, three daughters (15, 7, and 7), and three cats; I love and enjoy anything outside-  gardening, and going to the beach; and I love italian food.

4.  Pass the award to five others.   The first site I selected belongs to my demonstrator and inspiration, Lee Conrey, the other selected sites are blogs I have been following since the summer, or lucked upon during the Royal Blog Tour that touched me in some special way.

Lee Conrey- my stampin up demonstrator and inspiration for so many projects-  http://www.stampingleeyours.blogspot.com/

SSC #177 Pink Perfection Camilla

SSC 177

I made this card for the Saturday Sketch Challenge #177 and my friend’s birthday this week.  The flower reminds me of a pink perfection camilla.  I made it the Big Shot and Flowers Layers # 3- I think I got it on sale in October.  The flower was made with Very Vanilla and I used the stylus to run groves in the paper and went over it with pastels.  The leave are made the same way, I think I started with Pear Pizzaz and went over it with a garden green pastel.  In person the leaves look real.  My inspiration was the Christmas rose I saw on the Royal Blog tour, although this is not a rose.  I used the Concord Grape as a based, Pink Pirouette, and Very Vanilla.  I ran the Very Vanilla layer through the Big Shot Petals-A -Plenty and ran a brayer over it with Concord Grape.  Instead of stamping a greeting, I used the DSP Lap of Luxury- “Life is Beautiful” , and wanted the paper to speak for card.  Inside is the birthday greeting.    I used 2 new tools on this card- the brayer and stylus.  Thanks for letting me play along with the Saturday Sketch Challenge.

Here is a picture of the challenge-I think I finally copied it.

Owl Punch Birthday Cards

Owl Birthday Card

I am posting two birthday cards I stamped last weekend.  The orange and black card was for a teenage boy, and the pink and orange card was for a female friend whose favorite color is pink.  I love the owl punch.  The pink card is from the retired DSP Razzleberry Lemonade, and I think the vest on the owl looked like feathers when punched.  This DSP is now out in Blueberry Crisp.  My daughter wanted me to put the rivet in the card for her friend and I think it added a nice touch with the name stamped on the front.   Sorry for the photo of the pink owl, I like to photograph outside and this one was done in the parking lot of my office since I leave before it gets light outside.  My goal is to give my cards away so I do not keep them in my possession long.

Saturday Sketch Challenge #175 Play Date

I wanted to work on this challenge this week even though I do not have the Top Note die, it is on my wish list and I hope to get it soon.  I did the majority of this card using the Big Shot which I love.  I used the DSP Play Date which I have not used it yet but I love the fun colors.  Soon I will be working on Christmas cards so this was just a different card.  I think I will be giving it to my friend whose last day at work is Friday.  My daughter really like the card, and she is my biggest critic.  I was touched last Friday night when I came home and she was looking through my card box with a few of her friends.

Thanks for all your inspiration from your blog, you have got me stamping again on a more regular basis which is good for my soul.
