Sail Away SSC #208

Last Night I did my Father’s Day Cards based on the Saturday Sketch Challenge #208 at Stamping 411,   http://www.stamping411.blogspot.com/.  I used the SU Sailing Away stamp and the SU Nautical Expedition DSP.  I love the Sail Away stamp and the DSP, I also bought the Open Sea stamp set so I will be making many more nautical cards.  If you look in the right hand corner of the sailboat there are 2 people sitting in the boat.  The designer paper looks like a map in the background.  I will be ordering more of this paper before the catalog ends.  For this card I used the Top Note Die.  I inked the boat with Early Espresso, the waves with Night of Navy, the flag with Cherry Cobbler ink.  I sponged Bordering Blue (retired) around the boat, using an oval template.  To finish the card I used the new Cherry Cobbler/White Baker’s twine.  On one of the cards I used linen thread but after I worked with the baker’s twine it is nice for masculine cards.  I will be making many more of these probably for birthday cards.  This card was quick and easy to make.  The colors are Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and white.

Father’s Day was nice, and I cooked homemade spaghetti and meatballs for the family and my parents.  This is a favorite meal for everyone.  I need to retire soon.  I have to get up early tomorrow to get my oldest child to Marine Science Camp at Jacksonville University.  It is hard when you have to get up earlier in the Summer then during the school year.
